Ingredients used in Lentil spinach soup
• Spinach leaves (cleaned and teared to small pieces) - 1 cup.
• Ginger about 1 cm long (finley chopped) - 1 piece.
• Garlic (fresh, finely chopped) - 3 clove.
• Green chili (finely chopped) - 1 numbers.
• Tomato(medium sized) - 2 numbers.
• Moong dhal (green gram) - 2 cup.
• Hing - 1 pinch.
• Salt - to taste.
• Turmeric powder - pinch.
Pressure cook moong dhal with 4 cups of water. Cook it till 3 whistles and set it aside to cool. Add turmeric powder and hing to cooked dhal and bring it to boil. Add tomato, garlic, ginger, spinach, cilantro/ coriander leaves, spinach, green chili and let it boil till spinach is done. Add salt and serve hot. This soup can be made different dhal like thoor or massoor .
