Ingredients used in Mutton and ridge gourd curry
• Ridge gourd / turai ( chopped) - 150 grams.
• Salt - to taste.
• Turmeric powder - 1/4 tea spoon.
• Onion (chopped) - 1 number.
• Ginger garlic paste - 1 tea spoon.
• Green chillies ( chopped) - 4 number.
• Cumin seeds - 1/4 tea spoon.
• Whole garam masala - 3 numbers.
• Mutton pieces - 250 grams.
• Poppy seed paste - 1 tablespoon.
• Water - as required.
• Oil - as required.
• Mint leaves (chopped) - 1/2 bunch.
• Coriander leaves (chopped) - 1/2 bunch.
Method:
  • Boil mutton in 2 cups of water and strain the mutton pieces. keep aside.
  • Now, transfer the left over water of mutton pieces in a bowl and keep aside.
  • Heat oil in a pan, add whole garam masala spices, cumin seeds, green chillies, ginger garlic paste, chopped onions, saute it.
  • Add turmeric powder, salt, ridge gourd pieces and mix well.
  • Now, add mutton stock to the above pan and add poppy seeds paste, and let it cook with closed lid till ridge gourd is tender.
  • Then add boiled mutton, cook this along with ridge gourd on slow flame for about 5 minutes.
  • At last, add chopped mint leaves, coriander leaves and mix well. Later, switch off the flame.

DeliciousMutton and ridge gourd curry is now ready to serve.
