Ingredients used in Mutton Bhopla
• Mutton - 250 grams.
• Red pumpkin - 250 grams.
• Green chillies - 4 grams.
• Curd - 150 grams.
• Onions - 150 grams.
• Garam masala powder - 4 grams.
• Chilli powder - 4 grams.
• Turmeric powder - 1 tea spoon.
• Garlic - 6 cloves.
• Ginger - 1 piece.
• Bay leaf - 1 number.
• Coriander leaves - 1/2 bunch.
• Salt - to taste.
• Oil - as required.
• Water - as required.
Method:
  • Clean mutton, cut into 2.5 cm pieces .
  • Soak mutton in curds and salt for about 1 hour.
  • Grind together onions, ginger, garlic, turmeric and chilly powder.
  • Heat Oil fry ground ingredients till rich brown in colour and oil starts oozing out. Add garam masala.
  • Add bay leaf, green chillies and mutton soaked in curds. Fry till mutton becomes tender.
  • Add water and simmer till mutton becomes a rich brown cocour.
  • Meanwhile peel, boil and mash pumpkin. Add to the mutton when it is tender and cook till the gravy is very thick.

Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot.
