Ingredients used in Prawn fry
• Red chilli powder - 1 teaspoons.
• Cumin powder - 2 teaspoons.
• Coriander powder - 2 teaspoons.
• Salt - 1/2 teaspoons.
• Tamarind - 1/2 cup.
• Wheat flour - 1 cup.
• Prawns - medium - 20 numbers.
• Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoons.
• Water warm - 1/2 cup.
• Ginger garlic paste - 1 teaspoons.
Method:
1.mix tamarind with warm water for 20 minutes 2.wash, devein and clean prawns 3.sprinkle salt over prawns 4.add the red chilli, coriander, cumin, turmeric powders 5. add ginger garlic paste 6.squeeze tamarind and add extract excluding the pulp 7. mix well so that the prawns get an even coating 8.just before serving, dip each prawn in flour, coat evenly and fry till brown these prawns taste incredible and you can vary the ingredients to suit your taste there are more variations you can do which are, - use a mixture of wheat and rice flour instead of just wheat flour or - use a mixture of wheat and semolina instead of just wheat flour or - instead of coating with flour, prepare batter of egg, salt, water and maida in equal parts, mix well but not too much and dip the prawns in this batter before frying, this gives a nice coating similar to japanese tempura but not quite or -use a batter of flour and water add spices like chilli powder or tandoori masala and dip before frying for those with extra spicy taste or -mix a slight oil in marinade, minimize the tamarind or use lemon juice instead of it and grill, works better for large prawns i prefer the very first method as it is mild and original
