Ingredients used in KONG FIRIN WITH FIGS
• Khoya - 1/2 cup.
• Sugar - 1 cup.
• Almonds - 8 numbers.
• Pistachios - 8 numbers.
• Cashew nuts - 5 numbers.
• Semolina - 1/4 cup.
• Fig (chopped) - 1 cup.
• Ghee / clarified butter - 2 tablespoons.
• Milk - 1000 ml.
• Saffron - 1/4 teaspoons.
• Cardamom powder - 1/2 teaspoons.
Method:
Blanch almonds and pistachios in one cup of hot water for five minutes. After that drain, peel off the skin and roughly chop them and keep it aside. Heat ghee in a pan, add fry semolina for two to three minutes on a low flame, stirring all the time, add cashew nuts, almonds, pistachios, cook it for about 1-2 minutes. Then add milk, once this comes to boil.Cook this till it thickened. In the same pan, add saffron and sugar, let it cook by stirring occasionally till sugar melts. At last, add chopped fig, mix well then sprinkle cardamom powder, grated khoya, cook for some more time. Switch off the flame and serve it.
