Ingredients used in pudina pulao
• Basmati rice - 1 cup.
• Onion - 2 small.
• Ginger garlic paste - 1 teaspoons.
• Potato - 1 big.
• Cumin seeds - 2 pinch.
• Cloves - 3 numbers.
• Bay leaf - 1 small.
• Cinnamon - 1 numbers.
• Coriander leaves - 20 leaf.
• Pudina (mint leaves) - 25 leaf.
• Salt - 0 to taste.
• Garam masala - 1 teaspoons.
• Butter/oil - 1 teaspoons.
• Green chillies - 2 numbers.
Method:
Preparation: wash the pudina and coriander leaves (no stem) make a paste in the blender without adding water. Cut the potato into big cubes and chop the onion finely. slit the green chillies. Wash the basmati rice thoroughly and drain the water completely. Cooking: Heat the oil/butter add the cloves,cumin seeds,bay leaf and cinnamon and green chilies. Once it turns brown add the onions and poatatoes and saute for two minutes. Add turmeric powder,garam masala and a pinch of black pepper powder (optional) and saute. Add the drained basmati rice to this and saute for a minute. Add the blended pudina coriander paste and mix well. Add and one and half cups of water or a little more and 1tsp of salt (add only at this stage) . Put it in the rice cooker for 20-25 min or in a pressure cooker. Serve hot with onion or cucumber raita and some chips.
