Ingredients used in Tomato Methi Bhaat
• Corriander - 2 springs.
• Curry leaves - 10 numbers.
• Cinnamon sticks - 1 small.
• Cardamoms - 2 numbers.
• Cloves - 2 numbers.
• Green chillies - 10 numbers.
• Curd - 1/2 cup.
• Water - 2 1/2 cup.
• Methi(fenugreek leaves) - 1/2 bunch.
• Tomatoes - 3-4 big.
• Rice - 2 cup.
• Ginger garlic paste - 3/4 teaspoons.
• Cashews - 10 -15 numbers.
• Onion - 1 big.
• Oil - 1 tablespoons.
• Cumin - 1/2 teaspoons.
• Mustard - 1/2 teaspoons.
• Salt - to taste.
Method:
1.Heat oil in a heavy bottomed pan and add Cumin seeds and Mustard seeds, . 2.After the cumin and mustard seeds splutter,add cashews lightly roast to golden colour,next add green chillies,curry leaves,all masalas and saute for a minute.Add the chopped onions and fry till they turn golden brown 3.Add chopped methi leaves,let it cook for 2 mins. 4.Add the chopped tomatoes and cook for about 4-5 mins or until they turn mushy. 5.Add water,curd,salt and bring to boil; Add the rice(soak rice for 1 hour),close the lid and cook on sim until done. 6.Turn off the stove and add corriander and mix well. Serve hot with any raita or chutney of your choice.
