Ingredients used in ukkarai
• Cardamon powder - 1/4 teaspoons.
• Jaggery - 3/4 -1 cup.
• Channa dhal - 1 cup cup.
• Ghee - 3 tablespoons.
• Coconut grated (optional) - 1/2 cup.
• Salt - 1/4 teaspoons.
Method:
soak channa dhal for 2 to 3 hrs grind channa dhal into a coarse paste ,do not add water(very little if required) add little salt to the mixture and make idlys out of this batter in a idly pan or oven. cool the idlys , when cool scramble them wit your hands. in a pan take powdered jaggery with less than quarter cup of water and heat it when thhe mixture boils add the channa dhal mixture,cardamon powder, ghee and coconut and mix well , until it reaches the texture of putttu. it is a very delicious sweet,any one will enjoy it
