Ingredients used in Gun Powder Egg Uthapam Fry
• Instant dosa batter - 1 cup.
• Chana dal - 1 tea spoon.
• Curry leaves - 2 springs.
• Pepper corns - 1 tea spoon.
• Sesame seeds - 1 tea spoon.
• Dry red chilies - 4 number.
• Urad dal - 1 tea spoon.
• Turmeric powder - 1/2 tea spoon.
• Salt - to taste.
• Egg (beaten) - 1 number.
• Onion (chopped) - 1 number.
• Green chilies (chopped) - 2 number.
• Potato (chopped) - 1 number.
Method:
  • Dry roast chana dal, urad dal, dry red chilies, sesame seeds, peppercorns, curry leaves for about 2 minutes, transfer to a blender, add turmeric powder, salt and grind to a coarse powder (i.e., gunpowder).
  • Heat a pan, add dosa batter, spread evenly, pour beaten egg on top, cook on slow flame with closed lid for about 4 minutes, transfer to a plate and chop it to small pieces.
  • Heat ghee in a pan, add chopped onions, green chilies, chopped potatoes and saute it.
  • Then sprinkle prepared gun-powder, chopped egg dosa pieces, toss it and serve it hot.
