Ingredients used in Horlicks Oats Kozhukattai
• Horlicks oats - 1 cup.
• Mustard seeds - 1 tea spoon.
• Oil - as required.
• Urad dal - 1 tea spoon.
• Chana dal - 1 tea spoon.
• Hing - pinch.
• Cumin seeds - 1 tea spoon.
• Curry leaves - 2 springs.
• Green chilies (chopped) - 3 number.
• Onions (chopped) - 1 number.
• Moong dal (soaked) - 1 cup.
• Salt - to taste.
• Water - as required.
Method:
  • Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds, when they splutter, add urad dal, chana dal, hing, cumin seeds, curry leaves and fry them.
  • Now add chopped green chilies, onion, and saute it for about a minute and transfer to a bowl.
  • Then add soaked moong dal to the same bowl, prepare a mixture byadding Horlicks oats, salt (to taste) and required the amount of water.
  • Stuff this prepared mixture into modak molds, shape them and clean wrap foil to the modaks.
  • Steam-cook the modaks for about 10 minutes in a steamer with closed lid.

Delicious Horlicks Oats Kozhukattai is now ready to serve.
