Ingredients used in Raw Banana Palya
• Onion(chopped) - 1 number.
• Asafoetida - pinch.
• Urad dal - 1 tea spoon.
• Chana dal - 1 tea spoon.
• Red chili powder - 2 teaspoons.
• Mustard seeds - 1/4 tea spoon.
• Oil - 1 tablespoon.
• Coconut powder - 2 tablespoons.
• Green chillies - 4 number.
• Plantain(raw banana) - 2 number.
• Curry leaves - 2 springs.
• Salt - to taste.
• Turmeric powder - 1 tea spoon.
• Garlic chopped - half tea spoon.
Method:
  • First take green chillies, fresh grated coconut put in to the blender and make a paste.
  • Heat oil in a pan add mustard seeds, when mustard seeds splutter, add red chilli, chana dal, urad dal, pinch of asafoetida, onion, curry leaves, salt, turmeric powder, garlic, saute it for a minute.
  • Add plantain (boiled), toss it then add prepared paste of coconut and green chilliees and let it cook for about 5 minutes.
  • In the same pan, add chopped coriander leaves, then switch off the flame and serve it.

Happy to see a recipe from Karnataka! By the way chef, it is pronounced pallya, not paalya ;). Pallya in Kannada simply means dry subzi.?
