Pudalangai Kootu recipe Snake Gourd Kootu

Ingredients used in Pudalangai Kootu recipe Snake Gourd Kootu
• Mustard seeds - 1/4 teaspoons.
• Coconut oil - 1 tablespoons.
• Garbanzo/ kabuli channa - 50 grams.
• Turmeric powder - 1 pinch.
• Salt - 0 to taste.
• Snake gourd - 250 grams.
• Coconut grated - 1 tablespoons.
• Pepper corns - 1 teaspoons.
• Cumin seeds - 1 teaspoons.
• Oil - 1 tablespoons.
• Tur dal - 1/2 cup.
• Chana dal - 1/2 cup.
• Cumin seeds - 1/4 teaspoons.
• Urad dal - 1 teaspoons.
• Red chilly - 4 numbers.
• Asafoetida - 1 pinch.
• Curry leaves - 2 springs.
Method:
  1. First boil the chana daal and tur daal keep it aside.
  2. Heat oil in a pan add cumin seeds, pepper corns, grated coconut, cook this till coconut is golden in colour, let it cool down and put it in to the blender and make a paste.
  3. Heat water in a pan add snake gourd pieces, salt, turmeric put the lid on and let it cook for 5 minutes till snake gourd is tender. Add boiled garbanzo (kabuli channa), add prepared paste and boiled daal mix it well. For the temparing heat coconut oil in a pan add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, urad daal, red chilly, asafoetida, curry leaves pour the temparing on the top of kootu, mix it well.
