Ingredients used in Quinoa Idli
• Brown quinoa - 1 cup.
• Ghee - 1 tea spoon.
• Mustard seeds - 1/4 tea spoon.
• Cumin seeds - 1/4 tea spoon.
• Urad dal - 1/2 tea spoon.
• Cashew nut - 6-8 numbers.
• Chana dal - 1/2 tea spoon.
• Ginger (chopped) - 1/4 tea spoon.
• Curry leaves - 1 springs.
• Green chillies (chopped) - 1/2 tea spoon.
• Semolina - 1 tablespoon.
• Coconut (grated) - 1 tea spoon.
• Buttermilk - 1 cup.
• Water - 1/4 tea spoon.
• Cooking soda - 1/4 tea spoon.
• Salt - to taste.
Method:
  • Take a mixie jar, add brown quinoa and blend into a coarse powder and keep aside.
  • Heat ghee in a pan, add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, urad dal, cashew nut, chana dal, ginger, curry leaves, green chilies and saute it.
  • Add brown quinoa, semolina and saute it for 2-3 minutes and transfer into a bowl, allow it rest.
  • Add grated coconut, salt and mix it, add buttermilk, little water and mix nicely and soak it for 15-20 minutes.
  • Add cooking soda and mix nicely, Arrange the batter on greased idly mold.
  • Place it on the steamer and steam it for 10-15 minutes.
  • Switch off the flame and allow it rest and remove the idly into a serving plate.

Now the Quinoa Idli is ready to serve.
