Ingredients used in Ridge Gourd Lemon Pulihora
• Ridge gourd (peel and cut into small pieces) - 1 number.
• Cumin seeds - 1 tea spoon.
• Mustard seeds - 1 tea spoon.
• Ginger pieces (chopped) - 1 small.
• Turmeric powder - pinch.
• Curry leaves - 3 springs.
• Hing - pinch.
• Chana dal - 1 tea spoon.
• Urad dal - 1 tablespoon.
• Green chillies (slitted) - 5 numbers.
• Dry red chillies - 3 numbers.
• Peanuts - 1 tablespoons.
• Salt - to taste.
• Oil - as required.
• Lemon - 1 numbers.
• Cooked rice - 1 cup.
Method:
Heat oil in a pan when it is hot enough, add mustard seeds, red chilies, cumin seeds, peanuts, chana dal and urad dal, hing, a pinch of turmeric powder, curry leaves and saute all these nicely. Then add a chopped ridge gourd, ginger, salt as per taste, saute all these nicely. When ridge gourd is cooked, add lemon juice, cooked rice and mix well till all the flavors are incorporated with each other. Take a plate and serve with curd. Now yummy Ridge Gourd Lemon Pulihora is ready.
