Description: Its a Preparation made of squashing Idlis and frying them in oil and onions. Very simple to Make and very tasty to eat.

Recipe of Idli Chiyali

Ingredient Name Quantity Unit
Asafida (hing) Pinch
Salt To Taste
Turmeric 1 Tablespoons
Oil 5 Tablespoons
Peas 1/2 Cup
Cumin Seeds 1 Tablespoons
Mustard Seeds 1 Tablespoons
Green Chillies 4 Numbers
Onions 1 Cup
Corriander 3/4 Cup
Chana Dal/Gram Dal 2 Tablespoons
Lemon Juice To Taste


1) Squash idlis to small pieces and keep them aside. 2) Take a nonstick pan (medium size) and add oil and heat for 2-3 minutes on a small flame 3) Then add chillies,mustard seeds,cumin seeds and channa dal/ gram dal(optinal) and fry them for two minutes on a small flame. 4) Add onions and fry them till they get slightly brown (dont fry them too much) ,add peas when the onions are almost done and then add squashed idli's into the pan and slowly squash them further with the spoon. 5) Then add turmeric,salt,hing and lemon juice and mix them welll with the spoon.(After adding Idli's into the pan till they are done it should take only 10 minutes) 6)Then add corriander and your Idli chiyali is ready.....
