Puliyogare is a very popular South Indian rice based dish usually eaten as a snack or for breakfast. Puliyogare meaning sour tasting rice.

Ingredients of Puliyogare

Tamarind juice  1 Cup
salt   To Taste
Sugar  1 Tablespoons
cooked white rice  2 Cup
Coriander seeds  4 Teaspoons
Mustard seeds  2 Teaspoons
Cumin seeds  2 Teaspoons
Seasme seeds  4 Teaspoons
grated coconut  1 Cup
Hing  1 Teaspoons
Urad dal  2 Teaspoons
Channa dal  1 Teaspoons
Jaggery small  1 Piece
Red chillies  5 Numbers
oil  1/2 Cup
Few curry leaves   To Taste


Directions
ÔÇóRoast 1 tsp mustard seeds, cumin seeds, 2 tsp sesame seeds, ¢ tsp channa dal, 1 tsp urad dal one by one. ÇóGrind it to make a fine powder. ÇóRoast the coconut. ÇóMix the roasted coconut and powder. ÇóHeat oil and add mustard seeds, sesame seeds, red chillies, urad dal and chana dal. ÇóAdd the tamarind juice and jaggery. ÇóMix salt and allow it to boil. ÇóAdd the powdered masala and boil till it turns thick. ÇóMix it with the cooked rice. ÇóServe hot.
