An excellent dish combined with distinctive flavors which are classy, trendy and attractively glazy with a golden look. There are varied recipes that can be made with chicken and garlic such as Garlic roast chicken, Chicken in garlic etc.

To prepare this amazing and classic dish, place chicken in a medium sized bowl and add 1 cup of vinegar and marinade for at least one hour at room temperature. Meanwhile, melt some butter in a small frying pan and add chopped onion and garlic mince and sauté until translucent for about 3 minutes.

Transfer the onion and garlic to a medium sized saucepan. Place the pan over medium heat, stir in the orange juice, honey and ½ cup of vinegar and bring it to a boil. Reduce the heat and simmer stirring occasionally for 10 minutes.

Remove this sauce from heat and refrigerate to allow the sauce to cool and thicken. Remove the chicken pieces from the vinegar marinade and reserve the marinade. Sprinkle both sides of the chicken with salt, black pepper and red chilli powder.

Preheat a grill and place the chicken on the grill, skin side up and cook over medium direct heat for 20 minutes turning and basting frequently with honey, garlic and salt. Serve hot with lemon wedges. This dish can be eaten as a starter or served with hot steamed rice or fried rice.

Tip: Use the honey garlic sauce glaze to flavor other cuts of poultry and meats. This sauce goes good on grilled boneless, skinless chicken thighs, turkey breast steaks, or pork chops. Spice up the glaze by mixing in a teaspoon of Asian-style hot chili sauce before heating it on the stove.

Rather than grill the chicken, broil it for a similar length of time. Brush it with half the glaze when turning the breast over to cook the other side and spoon the rest on once it is cooked and on the plate.
